Can I draw a straight line.....
I feel no action is right and wrong. Its how we perceive things and actions that makes the difference. This process of forming these perceptions starts from the day we are born. Therefore, it's not only about how we interpret but how we are made to learn to interpret. How this world treats us, forms the foundation of our beliefs and our beliefs guide our feelings, perceptions, judgments towards our actions and that of others.
It is because of these ingrained beliefs that we are unable to understand people who are different from us , who think differently. Our limitation of senses limits us physically as well as mentally. Sometimes societal beliefs become our beliefs or can say we knowingly or unknowingly imbibe them.
How come killing someone is right for one person and wrong for other. We can't justify it with rage of the moment or revenge or any other reason. Or for that matter hurting someone or ourselves. Sometimes our perception of right and wrong is influenced by our own insecurities, experiences and limitation of thought in that particular moment.
There are times when something which seemed right a moment a ago or years back, becomes wrong and vice versa. So actually its not the action or thought that's right or wrong but it's our perception that gives a characteristic to it. As soon as our perception changes so does that particular thing.
I guess the principle of 'Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder' applies here as well or if I may say everywhere. This thought can be associated with the fact that the colour of the world we see is actually how we perceive it or want to see.
We see things in the light of our limited or finite senses. Like we can see up to a limited distance with our eyes but that doesn't mean the world ends there. We are aware that the world exists beyond our site can perceive. This awareness comes from knowledge, knowing that there is world beyond our eyes can see. This applies to every sense and aspect of ours. There are many fragrances which we can't smell and many frequencies which we can't hear but, they do exist.
What helps us to go beyond our senses is knowledge. The quest to gain knowledge is actually our journey to conquer our limitations and reach the infinite. Mind is limitless, thoughts keep generating with or without purpose, endlessly. This gives an insight into the limitless power of our mind. None of our senses can limit the power of mind if we let it hold the reins and not try to barricade it with finite senses.
So can we actually draw a straight line on this earth which is a sphere. Well answer is dependent on how we would like to perceive it. An optical illusion or perception.
When we refuse to get limited by our senses, that is when we embark ourselves on the journey of discovery of knowledge, which is like a lamp of truth guiding us towards our destinations.
You can restrict my sight but not my vision.
